Children's House

Children's House is a living room for children between the age of 3 to 6. Work in this mixed group is based on an individual approach by encouraging children to work independently or in smaller groups.

By eliminating the television and its contents in our day-to-day work, we encourage and nurture a healthy approach to learning and child development.

Work is divided into five areas:
-    Activities of Everyday Living
-    Sensorial
-    Numeracy and Arithmetic
-    Literacy
-    Knowledge and Understanding of  the World)

All materials from these areas have an indirect purpose:
-    Materials are auto-didactic, meaning that a child teaches himself, without adult intervention
-    Only one copy of material is available which encourages sharing, patience and respect for the work of others;
-    The usage is simple and clear.
-    It has error control, which allows insight into the result of the activity
-    always involves movement, developing a fine or large motor skills
-    always aesthetically pleasing and clean.

Maria Montessori believed that the essence of human beings is based on the idea that the world could be better if the education and methods we use were adapted to the true nature of the child instead of limiting it only to the transfer of academic knowledge, and that is what we live on our Children’s House- we create and live the better education!
